Building & History

A world first. In 1956, master structural engineer Fritz Leonhardt designed the SWR TV Tower, creating a structure that would make history. It was the prototype for all television towers with platforms, 360-degree views and restaurants, sparking a global boom in tower construction. Today, it is considered a technical, architectural and aesthetic masterpiece that impressively stands for the beginning of modern mass communication.
