Overview—Your guided TV-Tower tour
Why does the TV Tower look so thin? Why doesn’t it tip over in strong winds? And what’s the connection between stripy socks and the Tower shaft? Those are just some of the questions we’ll answer during the “Overview” tour of the Tower. On this approximately 60-minute tour, the guide first takes the participants outside to take a look at the SWR TV Tower, before descending into the foundations and finally ascending to the viewing platform, which is a lofty 150 meters above ground level. Along the way, they’ll delve into the history of the construction of this original design for all television towers, discover exciting technical details and hear a few amusing anecdotes about Stuttgart’s most striking landmark.
Unfortunately the guided tour of the SWR TV Tower is only partially wheelchair-friendly, as the foundations can only be accessed via a staircase.
